Jaana, I know, sometimes the cost of something can scare you. However, if it was given away for free, would you believe it was worthwhile getting? Much time was spent in preparing the manual, and it shows. There is a lot of information on how to actually do what the other books told you about. I was always left wondering exactly how do you do that? This answered my questions (and more than I had even had questions about.) Anyway, you never know. Someone here may decide they want the "new, updated" manual and have their older one for sale. I hope to get the "for sale" portion of the board up sometime next week. Welcome, Jaana! I wondered about the cost of the manual myself, at first. But I have been using it for 4 years now, and it has proved to be invaluable to my homeschooling. I don't think you would be disappointed at all! You might want to check out the sections of our discussions about the manual that pertain to your children's ages and see what you think. It will give you a good idea if this is something you could use or not. Susan Susan McGlohn Homeschooling 9 years and counting

> Hi We are in Australia and I'm wondering whether it would be worth while to purchase the Moore Manual. It would cost about double that after exchange rates and postage are added. What I'd like to know is, how beneficial is it to homeschooling the Moore formula way? It's been something I've been wondering about for quite a while now. TIA Jaana PS I hope I've done this reply correctly - It's my first time. |

I checked with the Moore Foundation about the possibility of an "update" or a reduced price for current manual owners. This is the response I received:
quote:There will not be an update insert for the manual that I am aware of but I will check into that for you and let you know. We are only re-printing and revising the manual because we are running out of them. The changes will be mostly in the look and some of the wording.
If I receive another response, I will let you know. Jo Dee Nothing takes God by surprise! |

Yes Susan they have added fifty more pages, more sample unit studies and some colour graphics. That's according to the new Moore print catalogue that I received last week. It sounded so cool but it also retails for $69.00, or $59.00 for those enrolled. I will have to contact the Moore Foundation. |

Has anyone seen the new manual? How does it compare with the old one? Do you know if they have update packets for those who bought theirs a few years ago? |
